At this year’s Wayfare Festival, I spoke about the need for a new renaissance and the important role that Latter-day Saints can play. You’ll also learn which movie fill me with loathing.
I also wanted to alert you to a few upcoming events you might be interested in:
ORGANIZED INTELLIGENCE NOV 10TH AT THE UTAH STATE CAPITOL
I’ll be leading a conversation with Marian Edmonds-Allen, DZ Kalman, Father Gregory Telemachus-Stamkopoulos, and Julie Park about what religious and wisdom traditions teach us about human dignity, agency, meaning, relationships, responsibility, and the responsible exercise of technological power.
TONIGHT! DEIDRE GREEN ON KIERKEGAARD 7PM AT THE COMPASS
I’ll be joining Deidre Green for a conversation about her new book Kierkegaard’s Visions for Christian Life. Drawing on Kierkegaard’s religious reflections on the lily and the bird, his maternal metaphors for God and Christ, and his generative readings of three women from the Bible, it offers a constructive feminist theology that attends to the centrality of joy and flourishing, openness to the divine and others, and communion with specific beloved individuals for Christian life.
WAYFARE ADVENT ISSUE LAUNCH PARTY NOV 20
Join us to celebrate the release of the special Advent issue of Wayfare on Friday, November 20th, 7pm at The Compass in downtown Provo. Children welcome for this evening of stories, music, and mingling! While there, you can purchase a copy for yourself or a friend. See you there!
